ORIGOVITA — JOURNEYS TO BHUTAN
Bhutan Spiritual Discovery
A four-night passage through the Kingdom of Happiness — Paro, Thimphu and the Tiger's Nest.
Welcome to Bhutan — a kingdom where ancient spirituality and contemporary life unfold in quiet harmony. This intentional five-day journey is designed for travellers seeking rest, perspective and a meaningful pause from the rhythm of the modern world. You will move slowly through the country's spiritual heart: the Paro and Thimphu valleys, sacred temples, the Buddha Dordenma watching over the capital, and the cliff-side monastery of Taktsang — Bhutan's most revered place of pilgrimage. Mornings open with fresh mountain air, afternoons unfold in temples and old fortresses, evenings end in the warmth of a Bhutanese hot stone bath. Wherever you go, you are guided by the Origovita team — quietly, attentively, exactly to the rhythm you choose.

ITINERARY
Day by Day
A measured five-day passage through Paro, Thimphu and the Tiger’s Nest. Mornings open with mountain air and sacred views; afternoons unfold in temples, dzongs and quiet valleys; evenings end with thoughtful Bhutanese cuisine and rest in carefully chosen boutique hotels.
Day 1 — Arrival in Paro · Drive to Thimphu

Welcome to the Kingdom of Bhutan. After the scenic flight into Paro (2,250 m), you are met by your Origovita guide and driven gently to the capital, Thimphu. The afternoon unfolds with a quiet first walk through the city — a soft introduction to a country that lives unhurriedly. Dinner and overnight at a boutique hotel in Thimphu.

Day 2 — Thimphu · Buddha Dordenma & Living Heritage

A measured day in the capital. Visit the 51-metre golden Buddha Dordenma overlooking the valley, the National Memorial Chorten where families circle in prayer, and the majestic Tashichho Dzong — seat of the government and the central monastic body. Afternoon at the Folk Heritage Museum and a traditional weaving workshop. Evening reserved for a Bhutanese hot stone bath. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 3 — Thimphu · Drive back to Paro

Morning visit to the Royal Textile Academy and the takin preserve, home to Bhutan's national animal. After lunch, a calm scenic drive back to the Paro valley (1.5 hours). Late afternoon walk along the Paro Chu river and time at Rinpung Dzong, with its hand-painted wooden bridge. Dinner and overnight in Paro.

Day 4 — Tiger's Nest (Taktsang) Pilgrimage

The heart of the journey. An early start for the ascent to Taktsang — the Tiger's Nest Monastery, built into the cliff at 3,120 m. The hike is steady and measured, with a halfway tea house for rest. Time inside the sanctuary for quiet reflection before the descent. Evening of slow rest and a farewell Bhutanese dinner. Overnight in Paro.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Q: Do I need a visa to visit Bhutan? A: Yes. All international visitors (except Indian, Bangladeshi, and Maldivian nationals) require a visa. Origovita handles your visa application as part of the booking process. The Bhutan visa is issued electronically and stamped on arrival at Paro International Airport. Q: What is the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF)? A: The SDF is a mandatory government fee of USD 100 per person per night, introduced in 2022 to support Bhutan's conservation and low-impact tourism policy. It is paid directly to the government and is non-negotiable. We include it transparently in all tour quotes. Q: How fit do I need to be for this tour? A: This tour involves moderate walking, including the climb to Tiger's Nest (Paro Taktsang) — approximately 4 hours of uphill hiking at altitude. A reasonable level of fitness is helpful. Altitude in Bhutan ranges from 2,200m (Paro) to 2,600m (Thimphu). If you have any health concerns, please consult your doctor before booking. Q: What is the best time of year to visit Bhutan? A: Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) are the most popular seasons — clear skies, mild temperatures, and major festival dates. Winter (December–February) is colder but uncrowded, with pristine mountain views. Summer monsoon (June–August) brings heavy rains but lush landscapes. Q: Can this tour be customised? A: Absolutely. All Origovita programmes are private and tailored. We can adjust dates, extend the itinerary, add extra destinations, or include specific interests such as archery, weaving, or Buddhist philosophy sessions. Contact us to discuss your preferences. Q: What languages do your guides speak? A: Our licensed guides are fluent in English and Russian. For other languages, please enquire in advance and we will do our best to accommodate. Q: What is included in the tour price? A: All accommodation, all meals, private vehicle and driver, licensed guide, entry fees, Bhutan visa processing, and the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF). International flights to and from Paro are not included. Q: How do I book and what is the payment process? A: Contact us via the form on this page, by email at hello@origovita.com, or via Telegram/WhatsApp. We will send you a detailed itinerary and quote. A deposit of 30% confirms the booking; the balance is due 30 days before departure.
